Acoustic Partitions

In any lively, collaborative office environment — whether it is a customer service center, a newspaper publisher’s crowded newsroom, or a “bullpen” full of cubed-in desks at an interactive agency — it is bound to be noisy, often to the point it is difficult to concentrate. While reconfiguring interior space with traditional drywall and offices for employees can be expensive, a more cost effective solution are acoustic partitions from the experts at IMT Modular Partitions Ltd.

In 2001, interior construction specialist Shay Sekler founded the company when they realized there was a need for high quality, affordably priced modular wall systems and acoustic partitions that could be used in a variety of office settings. They soon hit upon the idea for their signature product, the IMT Wall, which made its public debut in Toronto at IIDEX 2002 and won the prestigious Gold Award in the systems furniture category. Since that time, the company has sold and installed more than 100,000 linear feet of modular walls throughout North America, Europe, and the Middle East to companies and organizations such as The Weather Network, Google, Microsoft, Service Canada, Novartis, Knight Securities, and many more.

Made of recycled high quality steel and aluminum, IMT’s acoustic partitions feature amazing noise and vibration dampening properties, making them the ideal choice not only for busy offices, but classrooms, doctor’s offices — anywhere there’s a demand for reduced noise. If you are in the market for an aesthetically pleasing but sound absorbing modular wall, IMT has a wide variety of choices that can blend in with any theme or office decor.
The measure of a sound dampening office partition’s ability to block noise is in its Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating, and the IMT Double Glazed Wall has an industry leading STC rating of 42.

Styles and Colours

Finishes are available in three grades that include White, Beige, and Grey; Classic Maple, Classic Chocolate, Classic Cherry, Willow Grey, and Hard Rock Maple; and Exotica, Urban Mahogany, Calamare, Latte, and Stainless. IMT’s acoustic panels come in different surface materials, too, including glass, laminate, veneer, tack boards, and white boards.

Modularity in Numbers

The IMT wall is highly configurable and can be demounted, moved, re-cut or recovered with 98%-100% reusability. The wall kits are tool less, making it simple for them to be relocated. While moving or adding a door to a regular wall can be complicated and time intensive, IMT acoustic panels are available in two pre-configured door friendly options: Partial Door, and Full Door. The company’s modular wall systems also come in six more pre-configured choices: Full, Duo, Symmetrical, Trio, Work Surface, and Upper.

A key to the company’s success for more than a decade is its commitment to 100 percent customer satisfaction. This means our highly trained and experienced staff excels in all facets of the work we perform, from initial planning and project management all the way through to installation and ongoing customer support.
